  • Notes
    • The research has been done on the base of Greek Catholic and Roman Catholic Registers of the village of Hrymaylivka. The documents are:
      Roman Catholic:
Lviv archives: registrations of births, marriages and deaths 1816-1901.
Radekhiv Registry Office: registrations of births, marriages and deaths 1901-1942.
      Greek Catholic:
Lviv archives: registrations of births 1797-1865, marriages and deaths 1835-1865.
Radekhiv Registry Office: registrations of births, marriages and deaths 1866-1942.
Although there are chronological limits of the Registers, documents of some years are not available, especially Greek Catholic registrations of 1836, 1840, 1844, 1856, 1864, 1877, 1913- 1921 etc.
They wrote Greek Catholic Registers in Latin until 1912. Roman Catholic Registers are all Latin. So, I will write names until 1912 according to Ukrainian transcription and original names in brackets.
Huliayets family was only Greek Catholic. Members of Mamchur family were Roman Catholics. Roman Catholics are red in the text.

    • HULIAYETS
At the beginning of the 19th century, in Greek Catholic Registers, they wrote the surname as Huliay (Gulay in Latin). Then they added the ending “-yets”, and it became “Huliayets”. The ending “-yets” means belonging to some kin, in this case it means belonging to Huliay family. Therefore, I suppose that the original surname was “Huliay”, and then it was transformed into “Huliayets”. I will write “Huliayets”.
I have managed to determine that the first of your kin was ILLIA HULIAYETS (Elias Gulay). He was obviously born at the end of the 18th century. He married Iryna Kostiuk (Eryna Kostiukowa). They lived in the building No 12 and had at least 5 children:
