Service Details
Helen (Yacyshen) Radawetz was born Jan. 22, 1925 to Julia & John Yacyshen, in Rama Dist. She was the 7th child. Helen started school at age 6 years, walking in summer and driving a horse in the winter, it was 3 ½ miles to the school. When she passed into grade nine, Helen had to quit school, to help her father work on the farm. . Her father said that she loved farming so much she should have been a boy. In the winter Helen went to Winnipeg to work in a Photo Studio for a year. She came back every fall and went field pitching with the thrashing crew,
In 1944 Helen married Walter Swiderski, They had 5 children; sons Melvin, Wayne, daughters Vivien, Lorraine, & Sylvia. Walter died in 1966.
In 1969 Helen married Joe Radawetz, they lived on the farm. Helen enjoyed growing a big garden, sharing with whoever needed anything from it.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and wood works, making and selling and donating for Preeceville Hospital Auction. She loved to play bingo, curling, cards and baseball games.
Helen is predeceased by Her parents; husbands Walter Swiderski, and JoeRadawetz;, son Melvin Swiderski; son in law Bob Masko; granddaughter Cheryle Swiderski; brothers Bill and Zeno, sisters Mary Madarash, Lena Kuchelyma, Olga Sliva, Stella Kunca, Katerina Yacyshen.
Survived by 3 daughters, one son, 13 grandchildren and
12 great grandchildren, two brothers Tony and Ray’ three sisters Annie, Zonie .and Elsie
