      FILIPOWICH _ Steven Mr. Steve Filipowich, beloved husband of the late Emily Filipowich, passed away at the Care West Sarcee Nursing Home on Saturday, December 14, 2002 at the age of 94 years. Left to mourn are, one son Eugene Filipowich of Scarborough, Ontario; two daughters, Phyllis (King) Allen of Burlington, Ontario and Marie (John) Bruggeman of Calgary, Alberta; two grandchildren, Michael (Kathy) Filipowich of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and Gennie (Ray) Richards of Vancouver, British Columbia; as well as five great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Meghan, Tessa, Taryn and Madison; also many nieces and nephews. He was devoted to his family, friends and his church. Mr. Filipowich was predeceased by his brother Walter of Edmonton, Alberta, two sisters, Olga Ficzycz of Regina, Saskatchewan, and Julia Demchuk of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He lived in Arran, Saskatchewan, then moved to Yorkton, Saskatchewan, where he operated several General Store businesses for twenty-seven years. During his years in Yorkton, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 2031 and a member of the Yorkton Men's Business Club. Later, he moved to Calgary to retire. Relatives and friends are invited to meet for Prayers at St. Stephen's Ukrainian Catholic Church (4903 - 45 Street S.W.) on Thursday, December 19, at 7:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Stephen's Ukrainian Catholic Church (4903 - 45 Street S.W.) on Friday, December 20, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Rendall Yackimec, Presider. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
