It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Helen on Saturday, March 6th, 2010. She is loved and remembered by her husband, Mel; children, Deborah Yaganiski, Ken Yaganiski; Sharon (Dale) Atamanchuk, Kevin (Kathy) Yaganiski, Bryne Yaganiski, Greg (Angela) Yaganiski; 12 grandchildren, Jasmine, Ryan, Christie (Jeff) Harris, Kelly, Jamie, (and their mother Donna); Nicole Campbell (Scott), Jennifer, Ashley, Kyle, Kole, Bailee and Brittany; great grandchildren, Kalen and Kamryn Harris and Amellia and Hanna Campbell; sisters and brothers, William (Anne) Markewich, Olga Cherwyck, Joe Markewich, Michael Markewich, Nick (Jane) Markewich, Metro (Nettie) Markewich, Sophie (John) Knitting and Veronica Sokorski; sisters-in-law, Betty Markewich, Jean Markewich, Marie Arlins, Nellie Lazaruk, Lilly (Mike) Lisoway; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her parents, John and Anastasia; mother and father-in-law, Mike and Anne Yaganiski; grandson, Jeremy; sisters, Anne (John) Roshka, Elizabeth Starosta; brothers, Steve and Paul Markewich; brothers-in-law, Walter Dutcheshen, Harry Dumashowski, Mike Cherwyck, Walter Starosta, Morris Arlins, Alex Picklyk and Metro Lazaruk; and sistersin-law, Jean Markewich, Marjorie Markewich and Linda Picklyk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mazenod Residence or St. Paul's Hospital Palliative Care Unit. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 13th at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Father Jon Hansel, C.S.s.R. as the celebrant. Service held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church (211 Avenue O South). Cremation Rite of Committal will take place at St. Johns Columbarium.
