The research has been done on the base of Greek Catholic Registers of the village of Spasiv. The documents are in Lviv archives, namely: registrations of births, marriages and deaths 1785-1853, 1876-1877, 1895-1910, 1919, 1926, 1931-1933, 1935, 1937-1938.
I have managed to determine that Trokhym Musiy really lived in the village of Spasiv (his name in Latin is “Trochimus Musij”). He married Maria Yakubchak (Maria Jakubczak) and had at least one daughter – Eva (not Paraska, as it was mentioned in your information):
- Musiy Eva (Musij Eva) was born January 14 (or 17), 1871. 10.11.1895 she married Semen Sydor; his parents were Ivan and Katheryna Prokopchuk (Simeon Sydor, parents Joannes et Catharina Prokopczuk). He was born 14.02.1871. They lived in the building No 51 in Spasiv, and had at least 2 sons:
o Sydor Omelian (Sydor Aemilianus) 19.08.1896 DOB.
o Sydor Vasyl (Sydor Basilius) 13.03.1898 DOB.
There are no Registers 1854-1875; I did not find any birth entries of other children. I did not find any further information on the family in the Registers of the later period.

After seven years of farming in the Dauphin District, Ivan Musey, sold his farm moved to Norquay, Saskatchewan, and so on a farm. He died 2 July 1947 and was survived by his wife Wasylyna, who he married in 1904, one son Theodore and five daughters, Anna (Mrs. Mike Laskowych), Katharina (Mrs. Joseph Werbicki), Maria (Mrs. Paul Fedkiw), Nastasia (Mrs. Dmytro Yacyshyn) Petronella Musey; one sister, Mrs Semen Sydor of Grandview. MUSIJ, GEORGE (YURKO) October 13, 1941 to January 17, 2024 A kind man, good son, very caring husband, attentive brother, died of cancer on January 17, 2024. Born in Ukraine in 1941 and immigrated to Saskatchewan after WWII. The family later moved to Winnipeg where he began his university studies, which he completed at University of Toronto. He began his career as an industrial engineer who worked as a systems analyst, and later, when computers took over the world, he was instrumental in computerizing the payroll system at American Standard. He then worked at Cargill Foods, where, under his direction, bar codes appeared on all the packaged meats the company shipped to grocery stores. Shortly afterwards, his career took a different path and he became the Executive Director of the Toronto branch of Ukrainian Canadian Social Services. His spiritual life was important to him, at one time serving on the church council of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. Left to mourn him are his wife Vera, sister Marta with husband Don, dear cousins Ulana and Taras Pidzamecky, Tania and Marko Stech, and Fr. Bohdan Mironovich, and extended family in Ukraine. His numerous friends, neighbours, and colleagues will certainly miss this friendly, generous, outgoing man. His family greatly appreciates the compassionate support he received in the palliative care unit at St. Joseph's Hospital in Toronto. On November 28, 1948 in the parish hall at the Church of Holy St. Jehoshaphat (St. Josaphat the Martyr) in Kamsack, Saskatchewan the Silver Wedding [Anniversary] took place for the noble folks of Luka (Louie) and Anna Laskovych (Laskowich).
The noble Laskowichs are faithful children to their Church, and devoted to the cause of the people. Their Silver Wedding [Anniversary] was not only a celebration with their family, who came from Norquay and the surrounding area, but also a rejoicing with their friends and acquaintances in Kamsack.
They began the next [phase] of their married life with God at St. Josaphat’s early, on a holy day, Sunday, November 28; he [they] and his [their] children started with Holy Confession and Holy Communion.
In the evening at the Parish Hall, ladies from the Women’s Fraternity [Society] prepared dinner and Reverend Fr. Voladimir (Vladimir])Flyak said a few words to the guests of Mr. Laskowich; he addressed the tasks of the Ukrainian family in the time of ungodly Communism, which tries to destroy the family and the people. He encouraged endurance in the faith of the fathers to preserve the native language and customs of the Ukrainian people.
We, as well as friends and acquaintances gave them and their family wishes and gifts. At the urging of Reverend Father Voladimir(Vladimir), who had recently arrived from Lebanon (Arab/Israeli War – 1948) near Palestine, $40 was collected for charitable purposes; $25 dollars which is intended for wanderers [refugees], $10 for the Headquarters of the Ukrainian Catholics of Canada, and to the press fund for the Ukrainian Vista, $5.

Obituary
Pat (Patricia) Martyniuk (nee Musey) was born on July 5, 1927 in Norquay, Saskatchewan, the youngest of seven children.
She married Mike (Michael) Martyniuk on November 13, 1949. They had three daughters. In 1956, the family moved to Edmonton, Alberta making it their home.
Pat left this world to enter a new beginning on January 20, 2013. She will rejoin her husband, Mike; great-grandson, Jaden; her parents, Wasylena and John Musey; two brothers, Fred and Norman; four sisters, Ann, Minnie, Cassie and Esther; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her legacy is left with her daughters, Hope, Charlotte, Josephine; grandchildren, Robin and her husband, Jody, M. Jamie and Ryan and his wife, Serna; six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and those who she touched with love and care throughout her life.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the Edmonton General Continuing Care Rehabilitation Department, The Taoist Tai Chi Society, the Good Samaritan Choice Program, and the Allen Gray Continuing Care Centre. Because of them, Pat’s zest for and quality of life after her stroke in 2002 was so much better. In lieu of flowers, a donation to one of the above, in Pat’s memory would express our gratitude for all they have done and continue to do.
